Small utility. Clear boundaries. Some personality.
Present, until you say otherwise.
Keep your Mac awake for fifteen minutes, until five, or indefinitely. Let the display sleep. Give each long-running job its own reason to stay up.
When you press Stop, every hold ends and automation waits for your explicit go-ahead. A restart doesn't undo that decision.
A SMALL TOOL, WITH A FEW GOOD MANNERS.
Keep the job on its feet.
From the menu bar or the command line, Dilated gives the work a reason to stay awake.
TERMINAL
$ dilated run -- make test
Awake while it runs. Done when the command is done.
Command line notes +
Dilated includes a CLI. Install it from Settings → Automation.
dilated on --for 90m
A timed hold. The display may sleep.
dilated run -- make test
Keep awake while the command runs. Preserve its exit status.
dilated off
End all app holds and pause automation until you choose Resume automation in the app.
Agent workflows can create, renew, and release their own holds. Automatic hook setup is planned.
The screen can sleep.
Keeping your Mac awake doesn't have to keep the display on.
Stop is a full stop.
Clears every hold. Automation waits until you explicitly resume it.
Power gets a say.
Battery and Low Power Mode guards help put a limit on late nights.
